Dear Friends…
Here is a short practice on how to manage “anger.” I feel I must remind us to pay attention to what is rising in the mind. If we are not aware of what is rising, we tend to react to whatever comes to mind. We, then react impulsively and with self-interest.
So, please know this practice requires self-inquiry. Watch what is appearing in the mind. When you are aware what is coming into view then practice is possible.
Thank you for your patience and willingness to study the mind.
Anger-Practice Patience
In sequential form the practice is:
1. Notice you lost your peace of mind. Requires attention.
2. Ignore the trigger from the external world. Requires restraint.
3. Study your wound, your hurt. Requires effort.
4. Recognize hurt as the self wanting something. Requires letting go.
5. When YOU want something, YOU ENTER demon land. Requires wisdom.
6. Look at your thoughts, mental fabrications. Requires concentration.
7. Look at the wanting itself. Requires steadfast effort.
8. What is the root of the wanting? Requires continued attention.
9. And what keeps it going? Requires honesty & integrity.
